Recycled rainbows

Hazel and I emptied all our bags of plastic containers and decided to organise them in terms of colour.

This is our finished stash, in a colour spectrum with neutrals and metallics in the centre. We have a lot of white, blue and red, my favourites, but what surprised me is how much I like the yellow. It's very bright and for some reason the yellow plastic is a lot softer than the other colours, which makes it easier to cut.

Yesterday in the studio I played with some more plastic, and made a few more Military pins, I've had an enquiry about them so thought I would update the colours. Today I am making a new pattern for a key wallet, these retro items are making a comeback I tell ya!

Pinwheels are Pleasing

I am taking credit for this amazingly crappy photo, taken on the bench at Craft Victoria, where these cute Pinwheels have taken up residence.

From this flat piece...

... to this flower...

...you need a split-pin...
...some interference from the studio mascot...

...and a whole lotta colour!

Fancy some fluoro?

Brickies' string, a crochet hook, brooch backs and some Boardwalk Empire results in the above riotous botanical display.

Available at Craft Victoria.

It is done!

Yes, I'm behind the times, colour-coded books is so 2011.

But I always come to things in my own time, and after many months lamenting the mish-mash appearance of books-by-genre, I'm much happier with this view.

How do I find the book I'm after? Well I have a photographic memory, and so I just see the spine and know where to find it. I've re-discovered a few gems too, and have ditched a lot of dust jackets in favour of the colour underneath.

It's funny to notice what colours are on the spines, who is in charge of that decision? I'm happy that there are so many green and yellow spines in my collection, bored by all of the black and white, particularly loving the gold and silver.

Hello crazy colours!

Yes please!
Just what I need to pep me up after a 5:30 wake-up from Hazel.
She sleeps again now, while I drool over these colorful beauties.
I have so many ideas stashed away in the vault now.....

From Collezioni Accessori as per usual.

Yellow splendour

Craft Vic have outdone themselves with this Colour Coded Catalogue.
They are all such clever peeps, I'm loving this pegboard theme.
There I am all rolled up on the right, Postage Belt stylee, near Pene's jaunty oven mitt.

Also, in honour of Hazel's recent colour scheme, Aprons and Hammers is now in fuschia pink and minty green. For a limited time only!

I spy....

....with my little eye, something beginning with b.

In the Coburg Mall a few weeks ago, a spectrum of bras festooning a wintry tree!

I love it!

Colour

All pinched from The Selby.

This is the Brooklyn apartment of Malene Barnett, a carpet designer. She has great taste in colour!

Makes me feel cheerful, which is really something as I feel like shite today.
